VCU Commencement this Saturday

Saturday marks VCU’s spring commencement ceremony. Who will be giving the featured address, what will traffic look like, and how it might affect your weekend dinner plans.

On Saturday, May 12th VCU will award nearly 5,000 degrees during the university’s 2012 spring commencement. The ceremony will begin at 10am in the Richmond Coliseum, located at 601 E. Broad Street. There will likely be heavy traffic in the area throughout the morning and early afternoon. Former Oklahoma congressman, J.C. Watts, Jr. will deliver the featured address.

After the official commencement ends around noon, smaller department ceremonies will be held at various locations throughout the city.

Remember, it’s likely that restaurants will be busier than usual on both Friday and Saturday evenings as families celebrate graduations.
