Three sought for beating and robbery on VCU campus
Incident occurred 12:25 AM Friday morning.
Virginia Commonwealth University police are searching for three men who beat and robbed a victim on the Monroe Park campus early Friday.
Police said the robbery occurred when the victim was walking in the 300 block of Shafer Street at the alley entrance and was confronted at 12:25 a.m. by three men, one of whom ordered him to “give up his stuff.” The man punched the victim and took his backpack, wallet and cellphone before all three men fled south on Shafer. Police said no weapons were displayed.
The suspects were described as a black male wearing a blue baseball cap, gray sweatshirt and black pants; a black male wearing all black; and a white or light-skinned black male wearing a camouflage jacket and dark pants. All were said to be between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall.
