Sponsor a bike rack for World Road Cycling Championships

The city can always use more bike racks.

Businesses or individuals interested in sponsoring a rack can get more information including contact info at Go Bike! Community Project. Don’t worry your sponsored bike rack will be here long after next summer’s World Road Cycling Championships ride off into the sunset.

Go Bike! will install 30 custom designed bike racks in key locations in Downtown RVA. These bike racks will be functional, original works of art created by local artists and feature sponsor company branding. A public unveiling, gala, walking tour and artist talk are just some of the events designed to bring attention to this inventive and exciting project.

This is a first come, first served project; select your company’s bike rack now! There are only 30 locations, and they will go fast because the cost to “own” a one-of-a-kind public artwork that servers as a key transportation hub in a highly visible part of the city is only $5,000, or $10,000 for a larger bike corral.

Go Bike! has already held the design contest and the winner was a VCU Student who created the design above. More details on his winning entry here.
