September 4th Precinct MPACT meeting set for Thursday evening

This month, the focus turns to the GRTC Bus Rapid Transit project with a presentation from guest speaker Carrie Rose Pace.

The September 4th Precinct MPACT (Mayor’s Participation and Communications Team) meeting is scheduled for Thursday evening, September 17th. The public meeting will be held in the library of Linwood Holton Elementary School at 1600 West Laburnum Avenue and begins at 6:00 PM.

From the organizers:

This month we invite you to attend a MPACT conversation with special guest speaker, Carie Rose Pace, GRTC Public Relations Manager, who will discuss the most recent updates and changes to the Bus Rapid Transit project. The Bus Rapid Transit system  will improve transit service, increase quality of life, enhance economic opportunity, revitalize commercial properties, encourage multi-modal options, improve safety and efficiency of the corridor for all users, improve environmental sustainability and stimulate economic development in the city, county and the greater Richmond region.

The GRTC BRT will be 7.6 miles long and constructed in the busy Broad Street transportation corridor, which connects the greater Richmond region to growth areas in surrounding areas in Henrico County. The project will provide service from Willow Lawn in the west through downtown Richmond to Rocketts Landing in the east, including 14 stations and 3.2 miles of dedicated travel lanes.

Please note that this agenda may be revised. Refer to the City’s MPACT website for updates. You will find the attached meeting minutes from our last meeting on July 16, 2015. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for doing your part to help build a better Richmond!
