The Richmond Police Memorial came to rest in Byrd Park on Friday. I was moved from a more neglected out of the way spot near the Richmond Coliseum.
RTD has more on Friday’s Ceremony.
“(The sun will) shine on it for the first time. It’s never sat to where the sun has been in its face or on its shoulder. I’m very proud,” said Glenwood Burley, a retired Richmond police officer, who, along with a group of others, has led the charge to have the memorial moved.
