Old Armstrong High School site targeted for 300 home development
The first of many steps were taken on Monday at the Planning Commission meeting.
Nearly 22-acres of land near North 31st Street and Nine Mile Road that formerly held Armstrong High School passed the first hurdle in becoming a 300 unit, housing development.
Monday evening the Planning Commission unanimously voted to approve the community unit plan. Next up would be a City Council vote and then back to the Planning Commission for final approval.
Although the vote was unanimous the RTD is reporting that there were some concerns.
Including:
- Short notice on presentation of the first phase to make a tax-credit deadline
- Loss of recreational facilities
- Impact on local schools from the additional families
- How this development fits into the larger East End plan
