New video touts region’s mountain bike trails

And shows how we’re primed to be a mountain bike destination.

A new video highlights the Richmond Region’s growing mountain bike culture after two years of marked gear shifts to its trails.

In July last year, organizers of Richmond 2015 announced the region would get an International Mountain Biking Association-approved Richmond Regional Ride Center next spring.1

This past summer, Bell Bike Helmets awarded just over $30,000 to the Ride Center as part of its 2014 Bell Built Grants program.

Soon after that, IMBA announced one of its trail specialists would design trails at Pocahontas State Park, a location that’ll see 15 miles of rehabilitated trails and 20 miles in new ones.

This upswell prompted Richmond Regional Ride Center to produce this video showcasing the trails at Pocahontas State Park as the region speeds its way to becoming an East Coast trail destination:

  1. There are currently 27 Ride Centers across the world.
