Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School opens today

The new school celebrates its first day of classes as further improvements on the grounds continue.

Today, the newly constructed Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School welcomes students for the first time. Construction on the new school began in July 2012. Now that the new building is in use, workers will begin demotion of the old buildings to make room for a new parking lot and gymnasium.

Back in December, the Richmond Times Dispatch took a look at the new school and some its new features.
