Healthy Relationships Is Topic Of April 17 Training

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – To recognize April at Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Chesterfield County Domestic and Sexual Violence Resource Center will host a free training titled, “Making Healthy Choices When Assessing Personal Relationships,” on April 17, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at Emanuel Restoration Church, 10700 Academy Drive, Midlothian. The training is being offered in partnership with the Women of Color Caucus of the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance, and will focus on the importance of assessing healthy and unhealthy behaviors in relationships. The program will be interactive, and feature discussions and group activities. Facilitators will include Shawntee Wynn, victim advocate with the Richmond YWCA, and Patricia Jones-Turner, domestic-violence coordinator with the Chesterfield County Domestic and Sexual Violence Resource Center. The program is open to the public. Victim advocates, social workers and faith-based communities are encouraged to attend.
