Embarrassing, small-town politics.

Graham Moomaw has some details on Richmond’s financial contribution, or lack thereof, to the Redskins Training Camp. The City’s on the hook for $547,685, and if it doesn’t pay up Washington is free to “walk away from the deal.” If that happens, at least we could then stop using the Sixth Street Marketplace as our example of failed city-funded development de rigueur.

There are so many good quotes in this Style Weekly piece about the concrete polar bear at Main and Robinson! The bear’s on the move, but, luckily, just across the street.

Sports!

  • Rams fought off some hot first-half shooting from the Cleveland State Vikings and rolled to a 72-63 victory.
  • Caps fell to the Islanders, 3-4.
  • Hokies take on #15 WVU today at 2:00 PM.
  • #3 Wahoos face the 9-1 Davidson Wildcats tonight at 6:00 PM. The newly A-10’d Wildcats will take on the Rams Wednesday, January 7th.
