Good Morning, RVA: So long spring, hello summer

Whatever your plans this weekend, make room for The Big Game on Sunday.

Good morning, RVA! It’s 72 °F, and yesterday’s lightning-filled Ragnarök has left us feeling cool and damp. Today features highs in the mid-80s and a chance of storms that increases the closer we get to tomorrow. Saturday’s weather look rainy and bleh, but Sunday should be lovely.

Today, the Governor will announce whether he’ll sign the recently passed budget, veto certain bits of it, or dump the whole thing in the trash. The proposed budget does not expand Medicaid and was only passed after some tricky politicking by republicans.

The Ukrainian government has regained control of its border with Russia as heavy fighting continues for a second day.

Saturday, spring officially ends and summer begins. From here on out, the days get shorter and shorter, so use that daylight wisely!

Sports!

  • Squirrels swept and shut out by Binghamton, 0-6. They’ll start a series with Erie tonight.
  • Kickers begin a three-game away series at Pittsburgh on Sunday.
  • Nats popped by the Braves, 0-3, but the battle continues tonight at 7:05 PM.
  • Wahoos take on Ole Miss in the semifinals of the College World Series tonight at 8:00 PM.

Don’t forget: USA takes on Portugal on Sunday at 6:00 PM, and you can watch with a couple hundred of your closest soccer pals downtown for free. Today’s games:
