Ginter Park Elementary School is 100 years old

Ginter Park Elementary (3817 Chamberlayne Avenue) was built in 1916. In 1916 the Battles of Verdun and Somme in World War I were fought. Woodrow Wilson was President and Jeannette Rankin, was elected the first woman to serve in the U.S. Congress. Locally, Virginia went dry in November 1916, three years before national Prohibition.
