Sweet Fix cakery set to open in September

The press release below is full of tasty details but I’ll give you the short and sweet details. Sweet Fix is an incredible maker of cakes, as you can see by the photos, and is available for custom orders and after their grand opening tasty carry out.

The grand opening will be on Saturday, September 19th and after that their shop at 9 West 10th Street will be open Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. They are also hosting a #sweetfixrainbowpix Instagram Photo Contest and the winner will be announced at the Grand opening.

After a long year+ of building and planning for our new space, Sweet Fix is proud to finally announce the Grand Opening of our new storefront location. The public grand opening will take place on Saturday, September 19th from 10AM-5PM and will feature free desserts, cotton candy, live music, crafts and the debut of our new retail dessert menu. Sweet Fix is located in the up and coming Manchester area of Richmond, at 9 West 10th Street Richmond, Virginia 23224 in a brick carriage home which once served as a bakery nearly 100 years ago. This beautifully restored location will definitely take you back in the past with our interior inspired by 1950’s American Retro and French Patisseries. Pink, chrome, checkerboard and more!

The winner for our #sweetfixrainbowpix Instagram Photo Contest will be announced at this public grand opening. Winner will receive a brand new Artisan KitchenAid Mixer. Rules for submitting can be found on our instagram @sweetfix

Post opening, Sweet Fix will begin regular business hours of Wednesday-Saturday 10AM-5PM with easy take-out of our European and Southern inspired desserts including seasonal varieties of French Macarons, Mini Pies, Crème Brulee, Mousse, signature cupcakes and more. Our small desserts are made fresh and delicious daily, but once they are gone, they are gone! Sweet Fix also offers a unique style of cake that has previously only been made available through custom orders with months of advance notice. This new menu will make our dessert cakes available on a smaller scale with less notice. You asked and we listened!

Sweet Fix is an award winning cakery specializing in custom-designed, all-natural wedding and special occasion cakes made from scratch and completely hand-designed. Sweet Fix is owned and operated by Amanda Robinson, the founding Executive Director of Richmond’s Gallery5 in Jackson Ward where she received numerous awards and recognitions. In 2008 she received The Theresa Pollak Award for “Art Innovator of the Year”, and in 2006, was the youngest recipient of Style Weekly’s “Top 40 under 40” awards. Under her direction, Gallery5 was awarded “Best Art Gallery of the Year” consistently by the readers of Style Weekly and Richmond Magazine. Amanda resigned from Gallery5 in early 2013 to pursue her passion of cake decorating full-time.
