Totally tubular dining at Kinsfolk.

Update #2 — February 16, 2016; 1:53 PM

The picture above is from Facebook and this news comes after a soft opening yesterday. Their menu is posted online if you want to check it out before you dine. Definitely going for the “foodie” crowd.

Also the observant ones among you will notice a slight change in name from Kinfolk to Kinsfolk.

Update #1 — January 20, 2016; 9:03 AM

Danny and Tiffany Ingram started Bell Café in Mechanicsville on a whim and little else. They’ve grown it into a stunning success and are looking to bring the lessons learned in the county into the city with Kinfolk. They plan to be up and running with lunch delivery on February 1st—and with the blessing and grace of the ABC Gods, ready for dinner in mid February.

From Danny and Tiffany:

This restaurant will hone in on all the better points of Bell Cafe and will experiment with a new food-centric – rotating small menu. We intend to recreate the wheel by offering a TUBE LUNCH program as an answer to the countless cumbersome box lunch offerings in the area (see attached menu). Kinfolks Tube Lunches will be available Monday – Friday 9am to 3pm.

Dinner – Kinfolks quirky tubes go home for the night and the real magic begins. Chef Cory Chaney (Formerly Southerly Restaurant) will be preparing a small focused and very deliberate menu nightly. Tiffany will be training an A-team of friendly – approachable – not dick head know it alls to warmly welcome every guest. We intend to offer a rotating craft beer, wine, and cocktail menu for those seeking a light evening on the town. Ideally we hope to make every guest a repeat customer, a part of the family. Open Tuesday – Saturday 5pm to 10pm.

Brunch – Kinfolk will offer a sexy – locally sourced menu weekly Saturday & Sunday 9am to 2pm.

As you can see from the picture the wheels or restaurant progress are moving behind the paper covered windows of the closed Chef Mamusu/Parkside (3516 Forest Hill Avenue).

We don’t know much, but what we do know is that Bell Café (8319 Bell Creek Road Suite B.
Mechanicsville) was picked by Richmond Magazine in 2013 as one of the Best New Restaurants.

Honest-to-goodness cooking talent, well-priced fare and attentive yet laid-back service are the inviting name(s) of the game at Bell Café, Danny and Tiffany Ingram’s Mechanicsville-based coffee-shop-turned-full-service eatery. Folks come to imbibe the cool craft beers and various coffee creations, but will want to stay for the comfy urban vibe, one that belies the place’s shopping center environs. Killer nightly specials are a big draw; $5 turkey burgers (plus half-price beer and wine) on Tuesdays and $5 crab cake sandwiches on Wednesdays beckon hungry diners aplenty.

Bell Café offers brunch, lunch, dinner has six taps and a solid beer/wine program.

I’ve got an email out to Tiffany and Danny Ingram and I’ll update this if/when we hear back.
