L’Opossum restaurant opens tonight, launches website

Stay gold Ponyboy, stay gold.

L’Opossum is the latest effort of David Shannon who first gained Richmond notice with his long gone restaurant Dogwood Grille.

L’Opossum took over Pescado’s at 626 China Street, in Oregon Hill early this year and the build out has progressed enough to launch a website that includes a menu as eclectic as the pictured decor. Menu items come in on the higher end starting at $17 for Pasta Free Pasta Prima Vera
and topping out at $29 for Blue Crab Festooned Filet Mignon with most in the mid-$20 range.

One thing missing from the website and Facebook is the official opening date but one has to assume it’ll be soon since the website launched and lists the hours (T-Sa – 5p-12a, Su,M – Closed). UPDATE: According to Richmond Magazine tonight will be opening night.

One item that has transferred over from Dogwood Grille is David’s sense of humor as evidenced by perhaps the best movie quote ever that takes up prominent space on the website.
