Cupcakes for a cause

Donate items to help out Richmond Animal League and on Friday/Saturday buy a cupcake and a percentage of the sale goes RAL.

Starting today, Tuesday, May 20th, Carytown Cupcakes (3111 W. Cary St.) is hosting a five day fundraiser, “Cupcakes for a Cause” in support of the Richmond Animal League. In most cases I enjoy my conversations with the neighborhood dogs and cats over the neighbors. Usually this critters are well taken care of by families that love them but that isn’t always the case.

The Richmond Animal League is a no-kill animal organization that helps treat, rescue and re-home cats and dogs from all over Central Virginia. RAL provides temporary shelter, medical care (including vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter, treatment for illnesses, etc.) and plenty of one-on-one time with each animal to help rebuild trust and confidence.

RAL is in desperate need of a new transportation vehicle- a critical component of their day-to-day operations. Carytown Cupcakes has decided to host a fundraiser to help not only raise money but the necessary goods to keep the shelter running smoothly. Tuesday through Saturday, they’ll be accepting donated goods, such as canned dog and cat food, toys, treats, dog crates, cat carriers, pet store gift cards, crate liners/blankets, etc.

An extended list can be found online at the RAL website. On both Friday and Saturday, 10% of the daily sales will be donated to the league. A donation jar will be available at the register and 100% of the money raised from the sale of our homemade doggie treats, available Saturday, will be donated as well.
