Weather! Another dose of spring-like weather

We’ve got a relatively quiet start to the week, as high pressure intensifies off the southeast coast, stalling a cold front to our west.

We’ve got a relatively quiet start to the week, as high pressure intensifies off the southeast coast, stalling a cold front to our west.

Overcast skies early Monday morning will burn off, revealing abundant sunshine this afternoon. High temperatures will reach near 80, with significantly less humidity than we saw most of last week. Conditions remain mostly to partly clear tonight, with low temperatures in the low 60s. Light winds will blow out of the southeast all day long.

Some cirrus clouds may keep Tuesday a little less sunny, but still very spring-like. Highs in the low 80s will give way to lows in the upper 50s Tuesday evening, as the ridge of high pressure offshore gives way and the cold front finally encroaches on central Virginia.

The exact speed and timing of the cold front will determine exactly when rain showers will move into the region, but current expectations are for it to begin raining Wednesday morning and clear out by the evening. Don’t write off your Wednesday plans to a washout just yet; I’ll have an update Wednesday morning.
