TIP! Junk solutions

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Also, let’s go ahead and redefine what we call “trash,” OK?

Have an old-school TV? Do not throw it out by the curb. A lot of electronics are filled with toxic and hazardous materials that truly do not belong in landfills. Best Buy will take your old TV’s (32” and less) and many other large electronics at no cost.

If you have other non-electronic items that you’re trying to get rid of or have a few leftovers from a yard sale, consider dropping off your donations at Diversity Thrift or another charitable organization conveniently located to you. Diversity will even come to your home and pick up donations of furniture, boxed items, and more (call 804.353.8890). Just make sure the items are in decent shape–after all, if it’s legitimately trash, that’s exactly where it should go–in the trash.

Drop off the items at Diversity at 1407 Sherwood Avenue from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Mondays and Tuesdays, and from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Wednesday through Sunday.
