Championship
VCU over DE
Look for Drexel to make an earlier than expected exit. Delaware has won their last 10 of 12 games.
ODU is DE’s second round opponent and their point guard, Trian Illadis is out with a torn ACL and now have to cover that position by committee; the bulk of that work going to Dimitri Batten, a shaky red shirt freshman who has twice as many turnovers as he does assists this year.
Drexel will be DE’s semi-final opponent and their point guard, Derrick Thomas, was suspended for criminal trespassing, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. (Plus, Deleware is their biggest rival). Another role player was injured in their last game and now they are down to 7 players.
With Drexel and ODU exiting their side early, VCU needs to make sure that they do not look past NE. For whatever reason they have had our number this year. I expect that to be our closest game during the tournament. The VCU – Mason matchup will go much like the recent man handeling during the last game of the regular season leaving only DE to beat. VCU will win it all this year.
VCU!!! GO RAMS GO!!!
