Some great wine tastings happening around town over the next couple days…

Champagne tasting: Thursday, December 9, 6pm. 
Taste 10 Sparkling Wines (5 true Champagne) for $20, plus enjoy complimentary hors d’ouerves. Space is limited, so please call 804-612-9232 to get on the reservation list.

Fall Tasting Series: Friday, December 10, 4:30pm to 7pm. 
Jeff Latchum with Williams Corner Wines will present a tasting of small production, sustainably farmed, European wines.

Free Run Wine Merchants tasting: Thursday, December 9, 2010, 5pm to 7pm 
French wine tasting from Harlan Wines: Wednesday, December 15, 5pm to 7pm.

C’est Le Vin (15 N. 17th Street)
Shockoe’s 2nd Fridays Wine Tasting: Friday, December 10, 5pm. 
Now serving food as well.

Once Upon a Vine (4009 MacArthur Avenue)
Cupcake and Legend: Friday, December 10, 5pm to 8pm.
Cupcake wines from Argentina and Legend Beer’s Belgian-style Triple, ESB, Chocolate Porter and Barleywine.

Wine Class with Warren: Saturday, December 11, 5pm. 
Spend 45 to 60 minutes tasting and talking about four wines. The class is $10. Stay for dinner and get 15% off your meal. The topic changes weekly. Call 804-364-0144 for reservations.

    I just have to agree with the writer on her love for the glow of lights, but not for LED lights. They have this awful blue cast to them and look so bad!!!! It is not warm and holiday-ish, that’s for sure. Also, I find that during the holidays Monument ave just seems to be the quickest route to anywhere.
