Growlers to Go opens doors of new West End location, plans grand opening celebration

The Short Pump store is the company’s second location.

Growlers to Go, which opened its first growler fill concept on North Boulevard near Scott’s Addition last fall has expanded to Short Pump.

The business’s new West End location is now open in the Short Pump Station shopping center, adjacent to Trader Joe’s.

Unlike their original store, the Short Pump location is equipped with a tasting room, which offers customers the opportunity to drink pints or tasting wheels on premises, as well as order from their wide selection of gourmet sandwiches and snacks, all carefully chosen to pair with the various beer styles offered.

“Not only am I happy to bring the Growlers to Go quality of service, fair prices, and unmatched craft beer selection to the Short Pump area, but I am also ecstatic about offering customers the opportunity to hang out at our store in our tasting room,” said general manager Eric Wetzel. “I think it all results in a much more well rounded and complete craft beer shopping and learning experience.”

Wetzel says he is encouraging members of the community to use the new tasting room for everything from lunch meetings to community events.

The Short Pump store will host a grand opening celebration Thursday night, October 15th. The event will feature free growler bottles, discounted food and drink, craft beer tasting and food pairing lessons, special guest visits from local breweries, and more.
