Featherston Filling Station

This is it, folks! Your last chance to answer a question about an image handpicked from the Valentine Richmond History Center’s digital archive. If you get it right, you’ll be entered to win a fabulous prize.

But first, let’s talk about last week.

We asked, “True or False: The boundary of Byrd Park, located at the southern end of The Boulevard in the city, includes the Carillon and Dogwood Dell.”

Answer: True

Now for our final image and question — our 20th, to be exact!

The Featherston Filling Station, which was built in 1930 on Broad Street, served Richmond motorists needing to refuel just west of the city. The station no longer exists but the building in the background is still standing today. What is it?

Know the answer? Take the quiz for a chance to win!

Remember, of the folks who answer correctly, one winner will be picked who will then get to choose between an 8×10 print of the featured image or a two-pack of tickets to any 2010 walking tour (valued at $20).

And thanks to everyone who played along this Summer. We had fun and we hope you did as well.
