Favorites: Garnett’s German-style ham sandwich

This week, Garnett’s Cafe marks four years serving some of the finest sandwiches in Richmond. The extensive menu has left many a newcomer paralyzed by choice, but finding a favorite is easy after a few visits. My pick is the German-style ham sandwich ($7.50), served nearly overflowing with Black Forest ham and sharp cheddar cheese between slices of whole wheat toast. Apple butter adds to the sweetness while Dijon mustard holds it all in check, and the whole sandwich keeps me coming back.
