Carytown Cupcakes holding supply drive, ‘Paint Your Pet’ event for homeless dog

Help give Walden, a 5-year-old beagle mix, a forever home and the supplies he needs to have a happy life.

From Carytown Cupcakes:

The holidays are a time to spend around the people you love, whether that’s friends, co-workers, next door neighbors or your entire extended family. It’s a time to laugh, to eat good food and to enjoy creating wonderful new memories together. This holiday season, Carytown Cupcakes is working to give the gift of a good home to one lucky dog so desperately in need of a loving family.

Walden, a spry 5-year-old beagle mix, has been waiting for a “forever” home at the Richmond Animal League for close to 3 months. While waiting, Walden has started to show signs of depression. Normally, Walden loves the outdoors and prefers an active lifestyle. He is quite the explorer and loves to play chase. He can get possessive with toys and food but does get along well with other dogs. Walden needs a loving home with structured routines and would probably do best with a family that doesn’t have small children.

This Christmas, Carytown Cupcakes plans to set Walden up with all the resources he will need for a good start in the future, (e.g. toys, treats, food, bed, collar, leash, food & water bowls, heartworm preventative and hopefully health insurance). We will have a supply drive the entire month of December.

Wednesday, December 16th at 5:30 PM we will host a Paint Your Pet event to further benefit Walden. Artists from A Toast to Canvas will teach you how to paint a frame-worthy picture of your pooch, just in time for the holidays! Tickets are $48 and $18 of each ticket will go to benefit Walden. In lieu of happy hour, we will be donating 25% of our entire proceeds for the evening to Walden. We will also be selling homemade, customizable dog bones. Get your pup’s name hand piped on top of a yummy treat you can take home later.
