Since 1981, the Black Maria Film and Video Festival has promoted, illuminated, and advocated innovation in the art of the moving image. Named after the world’s first motion picture studio built by Thomas Edison, where he made all of his own short experimental films, the Festival has a long standing commitment to creative, insightful, sensitive, free spirited, expressive, poetic, and experimental short works in animation, narrative, documentary, and hybrid forms. This program will feature award-winning works in all these genres.
