Auditions for the Virginia Girls Choir’s 2013-2014 season

Know a little lady who loves to sing? The Virginia Girls Choir invites music-loving girls, grades 3 to 12, to audition for the 2013-2014 season.

Founded at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in 2008, the Virginia Girls Choir is made up of girls from all across the Richmond area. Singing in a variety of musical styles (but with a focus on music of the Anglican tradition), the Virginia Girls Choir sings Evensong every Wednesday at 5:30 PM and on alternating Sunday mornings. In the past, the choir has sung concerts and taken part in worship services at churches and events across the country–the girls even toured in England last year.

No musical training is required to audition for/be a part of the Virginia Girls Choir. Those who end up joining the choir also receive stipends and free voice lessons from trained, professional singers employed by the organization.

Participation in the choir is free, and you don’t need to be a member of St. Stephen’s parish to audition or join.

To schedule an audition, fill out an online application and contact Stephanie Auld, St. Stephen’s Music Administrator, at sauld@saintstephensrichmond.net. Be sure to also check out the choir’s website for additional information and the answers to some FAQs.
