Armed robbery on West Franklin Street

Incident occurred on Sunday at 10:52 PM.

From VCU Alert we get the details of an armed robbery.

On February 23, 2014, at 10:52 p.m., a robbery was reported to the Richmond Police Department as having occurred at 1214 W. Franklin Street.  Richmond Police are investigating this incident.

Suspects:  (1) Black male, 6’ tall, 180 lbs., mid 20’s, brown complexion, wearing a dark knit crew sweater.  (2) Black male, 5’9,” 130 lbs., late teens-early 20’s, short curly hair, brown complexion, wearing a dark jacket with a vertical stripe down the sleeves, light colored blue jeans, and armed with a black compact Glock style handgun.

Brief description of how the crime took place:  The victim was walking in the 1200 block of W. Franklin Street when he passed the suspects on the sidewalk.  One of the suspects asked the victim if he could talk to him for a second.  When the victim turned around, one of the suspects displayed a handgun.  One of the suspects struck the victim in the head, taking the victim’s wallet, keys, and cell phone.  There were no reported injuries.
