A new Fan restaurant opens, Sweet Frog expands, and get ready to…graze??

Did you think that just because it’s Thanksgiving is tomorrow that restaurant news would fall by the wayside? Nope! A new restaurant will open on Friday, a new one has already opened in the Fan, and we have a list of restaurants that will be more than happy to make you your Thanksgiving dinner.

According to Richmond.com, Pasture will be opening this Friday, November 25th. Ry Merchant, owner of Six Burner, and Jason Alley of Comfort are teaming up to bring Richmond a restaurant for which they’ve been anxiously awaiting. The dining style of the restaurant is reflected in the name: a focus on small plates for tables to share to encourage grazing. Grazing. . . pasture . . . get it? Meat and produce will be as local as possible, beer will only be available on tap to reduce waste, and the wine list will offer only local wines. The restaurant is located on Grace Street between 4th and 5th in the former Montaldo’s buidling.

According to Richmond BizSense, there is yet another new Fan restaurant. Carlyle’s Cafe opened Friday and is at the corner of Morris and Main where Fat Larry’s, Sweet Pea’s, and Ruchee Express were all located at one point in time. The cafe is a tribute to John Sayles and his sister’s father who loved to cook. Carlyle’s will serve up southern fare and thanks to Fan of the Fan, we have a sneak peek of the menu.

Sweet Frog! It’s Richmond’s newest sweets obsession since rainbow cookies (RIP Ukrops). Now there is yet another Sweet Frog location in Richmond, this time in the Libbie/Grove area. It’s actually where the old Coldstone (gasp) was located at 409 Libbie Avenue. No word on an opening date yet.
