The Virginia Historical Society opens “Moonshining in the Blue Ridge” on Saturday, May 10th, and will run until September 22nd.

The exhibition chronicles how distilleries began in Southwest Virginia, their rise and fall, and how moonshiners became folk heros. Actual stills are included in the collection on display.

The highly acclaimed exhibit was brought over from the Blue Ridge Institute and Museum and was featured in National Geographic Magazine.
