Travis Antonio Horton—2016 Richmond Homicide #22

Here’s what we know so far.

We’re calling this a homicide because it has been officially termed as such by the Richmond Police Department. Before you tell us we’ve missed one–was it actually a death investigation (often self-defense)? Was it within city limits? Did the person die of wounds received in a different year? All of those deaths do not get officially counted as Richmond homicides for this year.

Victim

Travis Antonio Horton, age 29 of 3300 block of Meadowdale Boulevard.

The Incident

Where: 701 Express Store at 701 Jefferson Davis Highway
When: Tuesday, May 10th at or around 7:45 PM.
Weapon: Gun, multiple wounds. Officers were called for a report of a person shot. Mr. Horton was dead in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked in the lot.

The Investigation

Detectives are saying that they are sure people in the area witnessed the shooting, and they are urging those witnesses to call or text with tips.
