This morning’s Richmond Times-Dispatch reported that VCU president Eugene P. Trani told the World Affairs Council of Greater Richmond, “You’ve got to have a global strategy in the 21st century.” He was speaking to a group that had just given him its Woodrow Wilson Award for International Engagement

During his tenure, the council said, the Richmond university has established close connections with universities in China, India, the Middle East, Europe, Africa and South America.

The council particularly cited Trani for establishing a branch of VCU’s School of the Arts in the Persian Gulf nation of Qatar.
