Starr Hill Brewery, makers of some of the finest sudsy beverages around, signed a distribution deal with Anheuser-Busch. Soon, Starr Hill beer will be available throughout Virginia and then throughout the east coast.

There has been a trend of large breweries signing deals with smaller, specialty breweries, as the big boys look to diversify their product mix and appeal to different demographics. Major players like Anheuser-Busch and Miller have had a hard time introducing new products (I mean, seriously, Miller Chill?), so they’ve had to resort to signing up smaller players with successful products.

We’re lucky in Richmond to have lots of great local beers available. Legend beer can be found on the taps of many restaurants in The Museum District/Carytown (including New York Deli, Chiocca’s, and Caliente), and Starr Hill is available many places as well.
