Poet Cynthia Atkins comes to Minerva Books June 13

Cynthia Atkins, poet and author of Psyche’s Weathers, a poetry collection, will be at Minerva Books for the June Friday For the Arts, June 13, for a reading and book signing.  The event starts promptly at 7 pm.

Atkins’ poems have appeared or are forthcoming in AMERICAN LETTERS & COMMENTARY, BLOOMSBURY REVIEW, BOMB, CAKETRAIN, CHELSEA, DENVER QUARTERLY, FLORIDA REVIEW, GOOD FOOT, NEW YORK QUARTERLY, NORTH DAKOTA REVIEW, PEARL, SEATTLE REVIEW, SENECA REVIEW, SOU’WESTER, THE TEXAS REVIEW, and VERSE, and also in the anthologies “In Our Own Words: A Generation Defining Itself” and “Blues For Bill: A Tribute to William Matthews.”

Atkins has worked as assistant director for the Poetry Society of America. and has taught english and creative writing at various colleges including Sweet Briar College, Hollins University, James Madison University, Mary Baldwin College and Virginia Military Institute. She currently teaches at Roanoke College and serves as artistic director of Writers @ Jordan House/FAIR (reading series and workshops).
