Assuming it receives the necessary funding, George Wythe High School will be the site of a new health program designed to fill the gap in medical care that affects many RPS students. The traditional school nurse would be replaced by a nurse practitioner, social workers and mental health professionals, and would offer preventative medicine and counseling.
The school still needs around $100,000 and is active seeking donations.
