The Petersburg Republican Committee (PRC) elected new officers at its meeting on Monday, September 22nd held at the city’s main library.

Lauren Barboza was elected Vice Chair. A native of Petersburg, Miss Barboza served 28 years in the U.S. Air Force attaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Since returning to our city she has taught at St. Joseph’s Catholic School and now serves in the Department of Public Works. She is Chairman of Virginia’s McCain-Palin campaign committee for Petersburg and is 3rd Ward Captain of the PRC.

Patrick Washington, 1st Ward Captain for the PRC, was elected Treasurer. Born and raised in Petersburg, Mr. Washington works at Capital One in Richmond. He is editor of the PRC’s website (gopetersburg.org), and coordinated unit participation at events including Nostalgiafest (07 and 08) and the Intercultural Festival (08). He was the PRC liaison with the Fred Thompson for President campaign last winter.

Pat Harvey (3rd Ward) was elected Secretary. Hailing originally from Nebraska, Ms. Harvey was the PRC liaison with the Rudy Giuliani primary campaign and is the Director of Institutional Effectiveness and teaches math at Richard Bland College.

Chairman Linas Kojelis (4th Ward) had been re-elected previously to a two year term at the city Republican mass meeting last May.
