Owners of injured golden lab sought

Is your dog missing or did he come home hurt?

Received the following email this afternoon:

We saw a large golden lab hit by a car this morning. This was at the intersection of Westover Hills and Evelyn Byrd. I tried to catch the dog after the accident. He was clearly really injured in his back right hip. He had a collar and tags on. I was not able to catch him and he disappeared. I believe he is a neighborhood dog that likely escaped. I would like to get this information out to the neighborhood for two reasons. First so his owners know that he is injured. Second because I was bit during the attempt to secure him and I need to know if his shots are up to date.

We did contact animal control. They may pick the dog up if somebody reports it since we could not find a dog. This may help the owners if they are unable to find it as well.
