Andi and I hit up First Friday this month and saw a fascinating exhibition at Quirk. Belmont Ave’s Chadwick & Son Orchids had Orchid Terrariums on display that were pleasing to both the eye and the soul.
The Chadwicks sure are the orchid experts. They wrote the book on orchids, literally.
They have an interesting business model as well. One can buy orchids and keep them while they’re in bloom, then Chadwicks stores them in their greenhouse for 6-12 months until they bloom again. They have as many as 1,000 orchids stored at anyone time for customers in the Richmond area.
