On Dec. 20, 2008 the VCU Rams lost by a score of 81-70 to the Oklahoma Sooners. The game was played on the currently fourth-ranked Sooners home court. But what about next season? Will the former VCU head coach who now coaches the Sooners, Jeff Capel, return the favor?
What about buyout talk? Will Oklahoma pay VCU a tidy sum to release the Sooners from their obligation to play the Rams in Richmond? Isn’t that what happens a lot of time in deals like the one VCU and Oklahoma struck, as a part of Capel being released from his contract with VCU?
