New President/CEO announced at Virginia BioTechnology Research Park

Carrie Roth is announced as the new leader of the Virginia BioTechnology Research Park.

On September 9, 2014, Carrie Roth was appointed as the executive director of the Virginia BioTechnology Research Park Authority and President/CEO of the Virginia BioTechnology Research Park Corporation. Roth had been serving as the Interim Executive Director and President/CEO since December 2013.

With more than 20 years of experience in government, non-profit, and private organizations, including Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Trade for Governor Bob McDonnell, Roth has helped bring new funding and tools to support Virginia’s innovation economy.

The Virginia BioTechnology Research Park is a 34-acre campus that houses private sector companies, research institutes, non-profits, and state and federal laboratories. The Research Park employs approximately 2,400 scientists, researchers, engineers and support personnel. Health Diagnostics Laboratories, Inc., the Altria Center for Research and Technology, United Network for Organ Sharing, and the Virginia Division of Consolidated Laboratory Sciences are part of the Research Park.
