The Mary Munford PTA is forming an official opinion on Mayor Wilder’s action of attempting to remove the Richmond Public School offices from city hall and also on the way that the school board chosen (by either election or appointment).
Fliers were sent home with students yesterday with a ballot for absentee voting, and on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m the PTA will host a public forum to consider these same issues.
The letter, from PTA President Jennifer Eason, states, “These controversies directly impact the management and direction of our school system as well as teacher morale and recruiting efforts. The PTA is in a unique position to unite with other advocates and give a strong clear message about issues that directly affect our children’s education.”
