Monday, May 5 Smart Growth in Richmond

Suburbia has become part of the American Dream promising space, affordability, and family life. Over the past fifty years suburban life has exploded putting increasing demands on transportation and development. We will watch clips from documentary, The End of Suburbia, that explores the complex issues surrounding suburban expansion. Join us to talk about smart growth in Richmond and discuss options that are sustainable, feasible, environmentally conscious, and fair. We will also discuss Richmond’s Downtown Master Plan and how to get involved with local smart growth initiatives through the local non profit, the Partnership for Smarter Growth.
