Melissa Savenko has some interesting comments on VCU’s recent purchase of the Ukrop’s location bounded by Harrison, Ryland, Grace and Broad, across the street from the Siegel Center.

This purchase is apparently in violation of a written agreement between VCU and the Fan District Association (”FDA”), the West Avenue Improvement Association, and the Lower Fan District Association. There will be a public meeting held on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the FDA offices located at 208 Strawberry Street, at which time VCU will present its plans for the property.
