LISTEN: Xavier on waiting, family, and being real
Closing out National Foster Care month is Xavier, a 15-year-old who has seen a lot and has some advice for the rest of us.
We talk with Xavier and his social worker, Krista Watson, about what it’s like to grow up in foster care. Xavier is an entertaining guy, to say the least, but it’s his insight on life that makes this interview something special.
Xavier’s currently in foster care and is looking to be adopted again–but his situation is unique, in that he would like to keep a close relationship with his birth family. He and Krista explain why.
For more about Xavier (who’s a future architect, by the way) check out his appearance on NBC Washington as part of the Wednesday’s Child program.
