In our ongoing National Foster Care Month series, we’ve interviewed an adoptive parent of a special needs child and an adoptive parent who’s also head of the Children’s Home Society. This week, we introduce you to Sam, who’s just met her adoptive mother.
Here, Sam talks about what family means to her, how all foster kids are different, and what she’d like her future to be. She’s a very determined young lady, although she isn’t comfortable with tooting her own horn. And her social worker, Emily Kuezek, describes how much Sam has grown as a person.
You’ll hear a lot of editing in this interview–Sam mentioned details that, for her security, we had to cut.
