Virginia Commonwealth University coach Anthony Grant has announced that sophomore forward Lance Kearse “is no longer a part of the VCU men’s basketball team.
“We are very appreciative of Lance’s dedication and sacrifice during his time with our program. It has been a very challenging 1½ years for this young man but, as always, Lance has our full support and best wishes for success in his pursuit of happiness,” Grant said.
A 6-6 sophomore from Fort Myers, Fla., Kearse has played in 11 games this season with averages of 4.5 points and 1.8 rebounds.
Grant will have no further comment on the situation.
