Jackson Ward Walking Tour
How much do you know about Jackson Ward? Join the Valentine Richmond History Center on a walking tour through the neighborhood.
On Sunday, August 31, the Valentine Richmond History Center will be offering a walking tour through Jackson Ward. This two-hour long tour will begin at 2:00 PM at the Black History Museum and Cultural Center at 00 W. Clay Street. From there, participants will walk through the neighborhood and learn about the history of such sites as the Maggie L. Walker National Historic Site, the A.D. Price Funeral Home, and the Dill House. This tour will be held rain or shine. Please call 804.649.0711, prompt 4, to verify the tour will take place if extreme weather is expected.
A walking tour through Monroe Ward will take place on September 21 from 2:00-4:00 PM.
Cost
- $15 per person
- $5 for Valentine members
- $5 for children ages 12 and under
- Tour guides will accept cash or check at the beginning of the tour. You may pay by credit card in advance online or by telephone at 804.649.0711, ext. 301.
