Henrico Police identify pedestrian killed in Saturday morning accident
Wendi R. Mayhew, 38, was fatally injured while walking along Brook Road.
Henrico Police are investigating after a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking along Brook Road early Saturday morning.
From Henrico Police:
On Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 2:26 AM, Henrico Police and Fire personnel responded to Brook Road near New York Avenue an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
A vehicle was traveling southbound on Brook Road approaching New York Avenue in the center lane when it struck a pedestrian. The driver immediately stopped and notified police. The pedestrian, identified as Wendi R. Meyhew, was pronounced at the scene.
Members of the Henrico Police Crash Team continue to investigate this accident and the preliminary investigation has revealed the neither speed nor alcohol as a contributing factor in the accident.
The victim was identified as Wendi R. Mayhew, 38, of the 7400 block of Studley Road in Mechanicsville.
