Ginter Park United Methodist Church — at the corner of West Laburnum and Chamberlayne avenues — will be the host for CARITAS beginning Feb. 9.

“Congregations Around Richmond Involved to Assure Shelter” (CARITAS) was organized in the 1980’s to address an unmet need for emergency shelter for homeless adults in the cold winter months. Today, CARITAS is the largest emergency shelter program in our community with more 170 faith communities providing more than 37,000 nights of shelter each year. Learn more at their website.

The group hosted by Ginter Park UMC will be all men, and the church is asking for donations of certain items to help with the day-to-day needs they will have. You can view the list at Ginter Park UMC’s website.
