If you aren’t carbo loading tonight in preparation for the 10k and if you are a procrastinator when it comes to making plans, here are a couple of quick ideas on what to do tonight:

The Visual Arts Center at 1812 W. Main Street has its 23rd Annual Collectors Night. It ain’t a cheap night out (tickets are $100) but it sure looks nice and that price includes an open bar. It’s being catered by Mosaic and the tent out back is decked out nicely.

Alternatively, if your cultural tastes run more towards the musical arts than the visual arts, check out the No BS Brass, playing at the Camel tonight. Shows at 9:45 PM. RVAJazz is a great source for events like this.

Or, if you–like me–have kids, suffer from exhaustion by Friday evenings, and/or have failed to secure a baby-sitter, there ought to be some good college hoops on tonight.
