RTD has the story of a man living out of the Red Carpet Inn near The Diamond stealing food from a Central Virginia Foodbank dropbox on Rhoadmiller Street, a stone’s throw from Scott’s Addition.
The man had about 250 pounds of food in his room, including $420 worth of peanut butter and jelly. The room was also filled with furniture and toiletries.
He was clever to leave some food in the drop box so the Foodbank would not catch on (which they didn’t). He was caught by police on an unrelated charge.
